I have been an ‘interested’ photographer and videographer for many years but have never been in a position to make this into my profession. A year in Antarctica gave me the opportunity to take some amazing photos but these were simply for me and never intended to be professional.

I decided it was time. After obtaining my Private Pilot Licence I purchased a DJI Inspire 1 drone and began practicing taking aerial photos and videos. I was keen to get started but wanted to ensure I had done everything the right way. I applied to CASA for my Controller Certificate and Operator Certificate in order to become fully compliant. I also sought out insurance which would specifically cover aerial operations and the use of drones, as well as obtaining authority to operate in controlled air space around the air bases at Nowra. Having all these things in place gives me and you the confidence that I am not just out there to make a quick buck and disappear.

I intend to make ‘Elev8 aerial images’ a well known name in the aerial photography and videography business.
